What would be the cost of a good-ish laptop for gaming?

Ideally, i dont want to spend loads on this, but i do want to get a decent enough one. If anyone could recomend any specific models or anything, that'd be great. Cheers.

I recommend that you go for an Intel Centrino dual core processor or quad core if you can find one. Don't go for the Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad etc... coz they don't really perform the best on laptops but centrino does.

Don't get Windows vista. Vista is bad for many reasons. One, for gaming, most games aren't compatible with Vista, only new ones are. Two there are alot of bugs and stuff that needa be fixed. Three Vista is bad for networking so if you LAN with your mates, who have XP its not going to be that easy to play with each other.

Get a Nvidia card because Nvidia is sponsored and supported by leading manufactures like Intel and EA games etc... I sugest you get one from 7000 series AT LEAST and that you have 256MB of video ram, But that depends on what games you wanna play. Nvidia though has been know to stuff up using the Source engine which CS source use and portal....Half Life....Team Fortress 2 but if you don't play these games, then Nvidia will do good.

Get at least 1GB of DDR2 RAM

I hope this has helped you and don't spend too much on your gaming rig.
