My Son is a good kid, however spends a great deal of time sitting on the computer gaming. I'm not saying gaming is a bad thing, I enjoy doing it somewhat myself. However, this has become his only interaction with people and I'm very concern about the amount of time he spends gaming on the computer...it's obsessive(sp). Any help on timing or cyber clocks....or whatever would be great. Thanks for your help.
How do you limit your teenagers internet gaming?
Get rid of the computer
Reply:I don't wish to be insensitive, but you are the parent he is the child. Unplug it if you have to, your the one in charge and it is not a democracy and you are not his best friend. You are charged with making the hard decisions and looking out for his best interests. I am a grandparent and I would do the same thing with my grandson.
You hit a raw nerve with me regarding the gaming. I have a problem seeing grown men or women at Walmart and other stores playing children's electronic games. There was a time when as adults we outgrew games and went on to more intellectual pursuits. I am constantly amazed by the current ME generation that finds this as a great form of entertainment.
Reply:You can always enroll him in stuff you think he might be interested in. then that might get his mind off of it.
Reply:i am allowed 1hr a day on the computer but laterly i havent sbendoing well on that.
Reply:Move the computer to a more public place, like the living room or some place close to where you might be able to see him. Teens want to be online in privacy, so this might discourage them to go on the computer a bit.
Reply:woop his but
Reply:Don't let them keep the computer in there room. Put it in the living room or something. That way its not as tempting for them to play. Also, you can monitor them easier from there. You see the teen online tell him to get off. Be assertive
Reply:buy a cooking timer and set it for a reasonable time then when it goes off... so does he
you could maybe do it like twice a day like that
Reply:go to the fuse box and pull the one that powers his tv or computer
then claim ignorance
Reply:get a timer and set it for maybe 30 minutes to an hour
