I'm organizing a large gaming festival and we have a room where you can relax and watch movies like blade runner etc. What other movies would you suggest that have a gaming theme? i.e. Street fighter etc. and/or anime?
If you went to a gaming festival, what kind of movies would you want to see in the chill out room?
Shonen anime should be pretty safe, provided the games at the festival aren't rhythm games or MMOs.
I'd stay away from the Holywood movies based on video games, except for maybe the first Mortal Kombat and the first Resident Evil. Most of the others were popular with neither the fans of the series nor the genreal public.
If you expect mostly adult gamers, you might get a good chuckle out of showing The Wizard (the Fred Savage movie from the mid 80's that was a big Nintendo advertisement).
Also, depending on who is going to be there, you might want to shy away from R-rated movies, particularly if they have nudity.
