What's the best gaming computer out there and how expensive?

IO'm talking abpout equipped with the best video cards and best sounds cards - able to handle games like Far Cry and Doom 3 at the best graphics.

What's the best gaming computer out there and how expensive?
Go to http://unitedmicro.com They have the best site for constructing your own computer that I know of. When you build a computer yourself you save a bundle, feel good about yourself, know exactly what is in your system and become way more savvy about how to fix it when something goes wrong. The down side that you will have no "whole computer" guarantee. These previous answers are right on the mark. If you want a computer that does what you want it to do you got to do it yourself.

Don't let assembling a computer yourself scare you. It is pretty much like plugging your periferals in the back of your computer, i.e., if the plug doesn't fit the socket it doesn't go there :)

I built a computer five years ago that was an absolute screamin demon at that time. The tower and all that was in it cost me about $1,100 (not the monitor). To buy a simular name brand computer at that time would have cost at least 2,200. Here I am five years later and the computer I built is still worth nearly what I paid for it.
Reply:alienware is not the best, they are the most expensive.

Go with Dell or build it yourself. Dell can contain the same parts as alienware but with much lower manufacturing costs.

Building it yourself is always the cheapest.

Just remember, no matter the gaming rig, there will always be games that will slow it down.

Reply:definetly Alienware, they can cost up to about $2900, depending on type(laptop, desktop)
Reply:Not really a good idea to stick to Dell or a name brand. The best gaming PC's are the ones u build yourself and thats the bottom line. Get a good motherboard, a good processor, plenty of RAM and hard disk storage and a good monitor and u are good to go.
Reply:DIY man. Building a PC by yourself is always better.
