I've had my Battlefield 2 for ages but I stopped playing it because my computer sucks and the experience just isn't that great when I have constant lags and lowest sound/ video settings. I've been considering getting a replacement computer for my current 5 year-old piece of junk. Any ideas on how to start learning to build a good gaming computer with 1000 - budget?
How can i get a gaming computer that wil....?
For less than $1000 I can build a custom computer that will play Battlefield 2 on full specs plus more games that you choose. The website is http://www.xbytecustompcs.com. You can go to Get A Quote and I will design the computer for you within your budget.
Reply:I asked myself the same question. I went to newegg.com and bought a 680 SLI motherboard, 2 of 7900GS videocards, an Intel Duo E6600 and 2 of 1GB DDR2 667 and put in my old case with my DVD burner and 430 watt power supply, This processor is a 2.4 GHz that I can overclock to 2.8GHz without failure. The graphics cards are under $200 each. This will cost you alot unless you look for combos. I guess you can probably get by with one graphics card.
Reply:core2duo E6320.......$204
p5b vm do ASUS motherboard......$130
1024x2 ddr2 5300........$118 or less
evga 8800gts 320mb version......$339
550watt powersupply......$64 to $109
seagate 160gb SATA2 hdd......$75
reuse your optical drives and case (unless you hate it) and use your old hdd for storage and swap file (as long as it is at least a 7200 rpm drive) you could save a little loot and go for a 7950 vid card and not loose much in performance(at all) and start with a gig of ram, but BF2 likes its resources. all prices are based on the computer store i work at and can be found a little cheaper online (you may not have to pay sales tax that way as well). this sys would play bf2 and all other games currently available, most at max settings with very nice frame rates.....its pretty much my current gaming rig and it smokes......have built alot more expensive rigs, and always benchmark them to see where mine hangs in the balance and haven't been too far behind considering the cost. real world performance is what you want.......this one has it. hope this helped......oh...stay away from vista until they release at least sp1 for it, and dont buy anything from the mass manufacturers, such as dell, gateway, etc......
Reply:Get a comp with a duo core or AMD athlon X2 with at least 2.0ghz. The dou cores for both amd and intel run at a estimated 5.0ghz. Also Windows vista and a 250gb hard drive and 1gb or ddr2 ram. Now if you buy this brand new at a computer store or bestbuy itll cost around 800 and comes with intergrated graphics so buy a new graphic card for the PC-I slot and install it . Buy the nvidia geforce 7600 or greater and thatll be around 200 and boom theres you 1000 dollar computer without tax and that depends on what state or province you live in depending on if your in america or canada
