How does the online gaming work for the Nintendo Wii?

You can buy games online with those game cards but how do they save? Can you save them onto a SD memory card and play them without having the console online?

How does the online gaming work for the Nintendo Wii?
No what you do is you open the Wii shop channel and go to redeme points then you select what game you want to buy and it starts downloading then after it downloads it is saved to your Wii
Reply:The games you can buy on-line are the virtual console games. These are old NES, SNES, Sega Genisis, and Turbografx 16 games, that you can download and play on your Wii.

You CANNOT save these to an SD card, or anything else for that matter and transfer them off your wii. They are for use on the wii unit you purchased and downloaded it from, and WILL NOT work on any other machine.

After you download the game, you don't need to be online to play it - it is stored in one of you many Wii channels for play whenever you feel like it.

Hope that helps
Reply:I haven't actually bought one yet but I do believe the game is saved directly onto your wii. You can play it anytime just by pointing and clicking on the "channel" its on. You play it offline.
Reply:You don't buy the games online what u do it u get wireless Internet and connect ur wifi and then on the console theres channels and theres a channel that is called the shopping channel on the shopping channel u can up load the points off those point cards (game cards) and then u used the points to buy games right off that and how it works is u download them to ur console and really u don't need the SD memory card they save right to ur console and what u do is that the game shows up as one of the channels and like all u do is u buy the classic controller and u use the classic controller instead of the wiimote
