How can I update my laptop to improve gaming?

I play World of Warcraft and have trouble with lag in the large cities and instances.

Here is what my laptop currently has:

# 512MB DDR2 SDRAM

# 80GB hard drive

# ATI Radeon Xpress 200M integrated graphics

What can I do to improve my gaming experience?

tigerdirect is good place http://www.tigerdirect.com

but you need to be absolutely specific about what type

ddr2 aint enough, is it 533 mhz or 667 mhz or what

is 512 mb in single slot (512 x 1) or is it 256 x 2 ...

the greater the detail , the better ...

am posting the exact item u need

pc2700 ddr 333 mhz 512 mb ram

2 pieces

making it $ 70 x 2 = $ 140

which means u got to throw away your present 256 X 2

as only 2 slots are present !

%26gt;%26gt;%26gt; plz. do not buy 4 now

.... lemme rethink !

one single 512 mb makes no sense

it means either of 2 options

1) 512 mb + 0 = 512 mb

2) 512 mb + 256 mb = 768 mb

ram best performs when paired equally

the unequal 768 mb is no good !

lemme know if u still online ... plz
Reply:external add-ons...
Reply:well if you can bye 1 GB ram its better. if you cannot tweak windows to stay always in memory by :

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentCont... Manager\Memory Management]

key make to 1 "LargeSystemCache"=dword:00000001 and "DisablePagingExecutive"=dword:00000001 also.

Make sure you have WinXP Pro not Home edition. Download and update everything including fix for multithreading processor if you have one - XP pro sp2 does not by default use multiproccesor (this is bug :)) and check size of second level cache in same reg key SecondLevelDataCache must be size of processor like 1024 for pentium 4.

this helps me for playing TCE:test :)
Reply:Running Spyware scans can make you computer go faster. Go to Microsoft.com and find spyware downloads.
Reply:well u see the thing that says ati radeon xpress...that is the one that came with pc most likely....in order to improve the gaming..u need to get a better graphic card u can get them from best buy...comp usa..u can even get them at wal-mart...
Reply:Add memory. 1 Gig should work very nicely. Make sure you have all the software up to date, also lower any video settings in the game if it starts to lag. Good Luck. Cnet.com is a good resource.
