What kind of computer should I get for gaming?

If there are any, the price has to be under $2,000 dollars.

What kind of computer should I get for gaming?
Go to a computer store and tell them that you want a computer with the following components inside at a minimum...

2GB of RAM

Intel Core Duo (2Ghz per core) processor

DirectX9 graphics card (NVidia GeForce 7xxx series or ATi equivalent)

800dpi mouse

17" monitor

If you can, get better specs than described if you have the money, but those should do for a serious gamer on a budget.

Don't get an AMD processor as they're worse for both value and performance.

You probably want to get a DirectX 10 graphics card if you can (NVidia Geforce 8800GTX or 8800GTS) as these support DirectX10 which is what Windows Vista will support and the latest games will be taking advantage of it.
Reply:there is all u need r three thing 2 look at. the video card the mem. and the processor make sure the video card is at least 256mb r higher the mem. is at least a Gb and pent 4
Reply:I you have $2K to spend on a PC I would recommend you research the various pieces of hardware so that you know what you are talking about and then go to a local Computer Shop (reputable of course) and have them build you one.

That way you get what you really want and they're local if you have any problems.

I just bought a Dell XPS but it's not rated for "high end" games/gamers. I opted for the 2.1GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, and only 1 Gig of RAM.

A top end Dual core is going to cost about $1000. A 2.6 GHz will run abut $500. DDR2 SDRAM runs about $150 for 1 Gig. Then add on all the rest of the hardware.

Bottom line is that you can eat up $2K real fast.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
Reply:well how much do you want to spend? because if you want some of the best gaming pcs get falcon or alienware
Reply:I heard that Alienware is the best gaming computer.
Reply:dell xps
Reply:I recommend voodoo, alienware or dell xps

build your own

it's gonna cost about 400

it's easy

just make sure it's a "asus motherboard"

and a radeon video card
Reply:an alien
Reply:What NOT to get - Name brands like "Dell", "Alienware", "Voodoo", "Gateway", "HP", etc.

What to get - I personally like www.ibuypower.com, my PC is from there and I love it, plus it was a great price.

If you buy a major name brand PC, you are paying a LOT of money just to get that name (even if the service isn't any better). Alienware is infamouse for overcharging (along with mediocre customer service), and VoodooPC is just INSANE when it comes to pricing. Dell is alright for low-end computers for work and school, but NOT for gaming.
Reply:You should go to www.cyberpowerpc.com you can custumize your own pc with your prefrences that website makes gaming pc i am currently ordering mine and it looks pretty good for gaming.

If you don't want to custumize it you can choose from a lot of gaming pc they have there you should check it out.

You can get a very fast gaming computer for 2000 dollars.
Reply:one with a fast processor, lots of hard drive space and a good graphics card.
Reply:a really fast one

Does a CRT monitor make that much difference when gaming?

I've heard that CRTs have truer colors, and are superior for gaming, is this true?

Does a CRT monitor make that much difference when gaming?
CRTs do have a better range of colours. They also tend to have less blurring of quickly moving images.

That being said LCDs are making significant improvements in both areas.

For the best range of colours look for a LCD that has TCO'03 certification. This has requirements for the saturation of the red green and blue primary colours that are used to make up all the colours on the screen. It also has requirements for gray scale tracking, another traditional problem for LCDs.

LCD manufacturers are regularly quoting panel switching speeds. Pick the lowest value to get the least blurry image. Check the specs though, a low gray-to-gray speed is better than a low black-to-white speed. (seems like it should be the other way around but it is not.)

CRTs also handle multiple resolutions better than LCDs. So if your graphics card can't hack a decent frame-rate at 1440 by 900 (19" widescreen native res.) it is not going to be as crisp a picture when you drop the resolution.

However, CRTs are huge space and power hogs, and have to deal with all sorts of geometry problems.
Reply:I haven't heard anything specific about CRT vs. LCD monitors and gaming, but I think it would be the other way around.

An LCD monitor usually produces a clearer and cleaner image and is easier on the eyes. In terms of "easy on the eyes," a 15-inch LCD monitor is as good as a 17-inch CRT due to the higher image quality of the LCD.

For general computer use, I'd recommend an LCD monitor over a CRT in a heartbeat, if you have a choice. I don't see any reason why it would be any different for gaming.
Reply:so far, yes

not to mention that the refresh rate is much higher than most lcds.
Reply:I doubt if either statement is true. LCDs (or plasma) are the preferred monitors, and, in fact, CRTs are on the way out.
Reply:too be honest it dosent really make a difference to me i have a 19 in crt and a 19 inch lcd they look very simular just the crt is bigger and bulkyer
Reply:It is true that CRT's are on the way out, but they do work better for gaming because of the refresh rates as mentioned above. But most people would not notice the difference.
Reply:There are two issues sometimes raised concerning CRT vs. non-CRT monitors: refresh rate and true color. With respect to the first, slow refresh rates were an issue with early LCD monitors, but that problem has largely been resolved. I can see no difference, for example, watching a movie (say, "The Matrix") on my Sony Trinitron CRT and my Acer LCD (they're both 17 inches). Color rendition can vary a bit among monitors -- though there's little to no difference between these two -- but that can usually be adjusted with software.

I think the best advice for monitors is similar to that for loudspeakers: go someplace where you can see the alternatives for yourself, and trust your own eyes (or ears, as the case may be).
Reply:In few Word, yes. Bellow you can see why:

A)Flexible resolution:

That means on a CRT monitor, you can get resolutions more than 1920 x 1440, (even from a 17inch. monitors, see Philips 107P) when on flat panels monitors (LCD,TFT,etc.) BEST RESOLUTION IS fixed with each monitor. (That means if you change resolution, you loss on quality)

b) A CRT monitor can display the maximum number of colors when LCD can't.

C) Sharpness (mean clearness of colors are perfect when you use an LCD monitor in it's best resolution, while on CRTs sharpness depends on some facts like focus, soft edges, etc.

D)There ia s flicker on some CRT monitors when run in low refresh rate, bellow 75 HZ, (problem though eliminated with new graphic cards, refresh rate is even bigger than 120 HZ). LCD monitors are flicker free.

E) DOT PITCH(the area between 2 pixels) The smaller the better. CRT monitors are better on this area from LCD (for same screen size monitors).

F) Respond time (The time need a pixel to change) On CRT monitors this time is almost Zero(0) while in LCs this time ,even real small, does exist.

That mean when you view a video or a motion picture (like in games) the pixel change instantly on a CRT monitor, while take some time on LCD.

So, you can VIEW changes on pictures in real time, on CRT monitors, while on LCD this take some time.

G) Flexibillity:

You can change resolution and refresh rate on aCRT monitor so you can get the best performance while watch a video or play games.

LCD monitors come with a fixed refresh rate and resolution for best image quallity, so this narrow your choices.

CONCLUSION.

RESOLUTION, REFRESH RATE, RESPONSE TIME, are CRITICAL FACTORS for GAMES or VIDEO, and in this area CRT monitors are much better than LCD.

SHARPNESS and COLOR CLEARNESS are CRITICAL FACTORS for still images, and designs, and here LCD monitors are much better for CRT.

That's why GAMERS, VIDEO EDITORS, or any people who involved in motion pictures or graphics they prefare CRT monitors.

Photographers, designers, they prefare LCD.

Also for home users, price is another FACTOR.

To get a LCD monitor same as CRT (17inch,m for example) you need at least 2.5 times more money than to buy a CRT.

How to surf the web and play online gaming simultaneously?

I bought a DYNEX router and it doesn't connect me to the internet at all but I could connect with my modem. So can someone help me with step by step instructions to connect both my labtop and xbox 360 simultaneously to the internet.

Please I need some help

How to surf the web and play online gaming simultaneously?
it should all be printed on your booklet... setting up a router is not that difficult but it will be hard to follow instructions if you are not doing it simultaneously when instructed... problems maybe encountered and we cant address the issue right away.

What is the bast way to buy a gaming laptop that is cheap.?

I'm low on cash all the time and I'm in college. I need a laptop for college but I want to be able to play FPS shooter games on it like Half-Life 2: Deathmatch and Counter Strike: Source. Everytime I get close to having enough money to buy one I get hit with some bill that I have. I have tried to get it through my finace department in school but they say that I can't, But I still see everyone else getting it through them. I don't want to to have to get a credit card or any drastic measures that could hurt my credit in the future. any advice will help.

What is the bast way to buy a gaming laptop that is cheap.?
You must spend your money for the best brand.

As I know HP and Dell are the best in laptops for a long time and they are very reliable too. I trusted HP and I bought a HP laptop 2 years before, and still like the day I bought it. Didn't even have to service it at least once up to now.

I recommend you to buy a HP (with experience) or Dell laptop.

On www.hp.com you can even customize your laptop. And also you can check the price.
Reply:A decent gaming laptop will run you about $1600 minimum and then your still looking at playing on medium graphics settings.

Here is one for under $2k and will serve you well,

What equipment is need in setting up a Internet / Gaming Cafe with 10 -20 PCs?

What equipment is need in setting up a Internet / Gaming Cafe with 10 -20 PCs. Also where can I find information on starting up one.

What equipment is need in setting up a Internet / Gaming Cafe with 10 -20 PCs?
Equipment :-

Plenty of sockets where the PC's will be (Don't go using extension leads unless it's 1 PC per extension lead and they're wall mounted).

Plenty of ethernet cable. (Even better if you have the cabling from the server room to the PC points sunk in to the floor or wall)

10 - 20 PC's

Managed Hub/Switch - I'd say get one with more ports than you need to accomodate future expansion. Managed so you can set transfer rate thresholds for each PC to share the bandwidth evenly.

Server - You'll need a server so you can remotely lock/unlock your client PC's and control what they can't look at.

Router - Always handy having a router to manage the internet connection.

That should cover the hardware needs of an iCafe, software is another thing.

No idea where you'd be able to find detailed information on setting a business like an iCafe up but dropping a few terms like 'setting up an internet cafe' in to a search engine should throw up some results.
Reply:Obviously the PCs, as well as at least one router and a very fast internet connection.

As for setup info, try some of these:

What materials do you need for wii online gaming?

and do you have to have a Wii LAN Adapter and Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector. And what router do you reccomend?

What materials do you need for wii online gaming?
You need a router. If you don't want to spend up to 200 dollars on a router, for 40 dollars, you can buy the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector. So much better. It only works with Window XP, but once you install the softaware and register your wii (its really simple), you have wi-fi. It was made for people without routers, so if you don't have one, just buy this.

If you choose to go the way of the router, it's a little harder. here it is in simple steps.

i) Go into wii settings

ii) Go to the third page (I think 3rd) and click internet.

iii) It should have 3 boxes going down. Click the first one.*

iv) Click Wireless*

v) it will either ask, or just start to search for an access point. If it asks, just click yes.

vi) If your router is password-protected you will have to enter the password ( it will pop up right away once the connection is found)

vii) Once you enter the password, you should be done, it might ask you to shut down your wii (it will do it automatically, you don't have to press the button). Just click yes.

viii) You should be done! now you have wifi.

If you decide to go the way of the USB connector.

i) install the software that comes on the CD when you buy the pacakge.

ii) Once the software is installed, an icon on your desktop toolbar should be there. Click into it.

iii) a small window will come up that says nintendo USB connector, and there will be a list of usernames registered. THere should be none at the moment.

iv) Like with the router, go into your wii internet settings, and test for a connection.

v) Go to the window on your computer and after a short while you wii username will pop up and it will be asking to connect. Just click enable.

vi) Voila! You have wifi

Hope all of this helps.
Reply:you just have to have a regular 102.11g wireless router. You must be near the router for it to work. You must have everything for the router to work. I use a linksys router that I got in June, 2004, so just about any router will do. The wii already has the wireless capabilities in it.

What is the best non-PC gaming system to buy?

I am looking to buy a gaming system for my husband for Christmas. From what I am aware of, my choices are Playstation brand, XBox brand, and Nintendo. I'm particularly thinking of purchasing a Playstation 2 because it's only $129.99 at the store. However, I'd like to know what you think the best gaming system is in terms of quality, graphics, games, and value. Thanks!

What is the best non-PC gaming system to buy?
I would acturally get the PS2 because it has more games to choose from and the graphics aren't that bad.Everything else is fine too but they're either too expensive, graphics are bad, or there aren't that many around.
Reply:The X Box 360 would be the best at this time. The Playstation 2 is being finally being used to its full potental but is too late. The Playstation 3 is over priced for its few problems like trouble play PS2 games and overheating, it will be good in about a year. Nintendo is failling rapidly, the poor sell of the Game Cube (Purple Lunchbox) is making the Wii suffer, the Wii is more of a novelty then a true console system.

The best way to go is a base X Box 360.
Reply:My personal favorite is the Xbox 360. It's the perfect mixture of hardware, software, and online play.

In the State of Louisiana, do you need to be regestered with the state to run a card gaming shop?

I am looking to run my own small business selling trading card games, role-playing games, anime, manga, and selling a variety of specialty drinks and teas. I have seen a few businesses in my area that do the same, but I cannot find their license information on the Secretary of State's website in Louisiana. Am I missing something?

In the State of Louisiana, do you need to be regestered with the state to run a card gaming shop?
All businesses in the State of Louisiana need to be registered in order to operate. What you sell does not matter nearly as much as you can be fined if you operate without a business license.

After you get approval from the SoS, you will need to apply for a business license in your parish and/or city.

Get ready to pony up the $$$.

Then, the IRS will contact you about their quarterly $$$$.

How important is a graphic card for gaming? And what difference will shared and not be?

I want a laptop and would partly like to use it for games! =)

How important is a graphic card for gaming? And what difference will shared and not be?
Graphics card is very important for any gaming beyond Windows Solitaire.

Shared graphics is far less expensive but also far less capable and is generally considered unfit to play modern games as well as run graphically intensive programs such as Adobe Flash.
Reply:Graphics are half of what games are all about.

You've gotta have a decent video card in my opinion.
Reply:Graphics cards are desperately needed for gaming. They are the key component to running a game and many games won't allow you to play them if your card isn't to specifications. So the true question is what games do you plan to play and what are their necessary specifications for the video card!

As for the sharing part, that really doesn't matter. Laptops that have been built for gaming work great for other task as well, and usually work better. If you plan to use the laptop to store data more than playing games, make sure you get at least a 100GB hard drive that is compatible with your video card!
Reply:depends on the type of games you like to play. You will definetely need a good graphics card if you plan on playing anything with good graphics, which most games have high graphics now. You will also need at least a gig of ram to run most games good. Two gig is alot better. Spend the extra cash and then you won't have to worry if you puter can run the games or not.
Reply:graphic card plays a vital role while gaming especially if the game has good graphics and 3D environment.without the card the game may not run or too slow to play .
Reply:Graphic card is VERY important for a gaming machine. You dont wanna share memory, as memory is another VERY important item for gaming. Get a good card, with good onboard memory.

Is this a decent gaming PC for a 12 year old?

I am looking to buy my nephew a PC for his 12th birthday. My friend has his old pc he wants to sell me for $200. Its complete with a 17" flatscreen CRT monitor, keyboard/laser mouse, 2.1 sound system %26amp; a tower with an AMD 2.13GHz THORTON core CPU, 768MB PC2100 RAM, ATI 9600PRO video card, SOUNDBLASTER LIVE sound card, CD-RW, DVD-ROM %26amp; a 20GB hard drive with a fresh install of WINXP PRO SP2, ZONEALARM firewall, AVG anti virus, NERO, EVEREST 2.0, WINDOWS REGESTRY CLEANER %26amp; a few other programs incuding a GAMPAD %26amp; a couple demo games like FEAR, DOOM 3, HALO %26amp; SWAT 4. Is this a good rig for a 12 year old? I dont have alot of money %26amp; dont think I could build a better PC for $200 complete like it is. Also I know it works fine as its my friends old gaming rig. What do you think is it a good deal? He might take $180 if I show him the cash in $20 bills you know.

Is this a decent gaming PC for a 12 year old?
for $200 for that system is a good deal. but that system cannot play some of the decent games like Lost Planet, Crysis, Bioshock etc... the system is a good start for a 12 years old. i say go for it.
Reply:This computer sounds fine for a twelve year old. But it definitely depends on what other games he'll be playing on it, if that is the extent of what he's going to be doing. You're set. But if he gets something a little more complicated or something thats more graphics or processor intensive, you may have some issues with gameplay speed or quality. For 200$ its a good deal.

Good luck!
Reply:That really is a good PC for $200. The only thing I would recommend is adding a larger Hard Drive later as a secondary drive and pretty soon a new Video card, since most new games won't play at all on the ATI 9600. The RAM is good for gaming on XP and the CPU is good as well. You should also get a good Antivirus, my suggestion is Trend Micro - won't slow down your system like Norton will, and just as powerful, plus Spysweeper for anti Spyware. Without those 2 programs that computer won't last long. Don't let him use Limewire or any of those free song downloading programs. They are virus superhighways!
Reply:For a 12 y/o, I would say that is sufficient. One thing that I am not comfortable with is the HDD space. 20 GB hardly enough for gaming.

WinXP alone prolly will take up about 3 - 5 GB of space. With the system restore feature switched on, that will cost an additional 1 - 2 GB. In total it already munched up 4 - 7 GB of space, leaving only 12GB+ of space.

I suggest getting another 80GB HDD for your nephew. HDD nowadays are pretty cheap. I am sure you don't mind coughing up a little more for your beloved nephew. They will love you for it!!!!!
Reply:I would tend to agree with the other posters - for $200 its not a bad deal for a complete system of such recent vintage. I would look at upgrading the video card, though - the 9600 is pretty lacking for todays games with only four pixel pipelines. I'd suggest something with at leat 12 pixel pipelines or more like a Radeon X1650, or a Geforce 7600 or better. Both of these cards are under $100 and would greatly improve the system performance.
Reply:The graphics card will need an upgrade, and you'll need more RAM. And the hard drive is -TINY- it won't hold more than 2, maybe 3 games. But those are all things you can upgrade later. And for $200? That is pretty nice.

What is a good laptop for intence gaming and work that is under $1000?

Going to collage soon, I think it would be wise to invest in a laptop instead of a new desktop. However, I wouldn't know the first thing about laptops and I'm on a tight budget. I'd also like to take my games to collage with me.

What is a good laptop for intence gaming and work that is under $1000?
Hmm contact Carbonfrost. They haven't begun selling their laptops to their general public but they are doing a trial run with selected customers for feed back. For your feedback you can get some free stuff like games and what not.

support@carbonfrost.com if you are interested. Also they have a full 3 year warranty just in case although they use the best parts around so you shouldn't have a problem.
Reply:Ok your not giving me any games so ill throw some simple ones out. For under 1000$ you wont be able to play next gen games like Crysis, UT3, DIRT, Bioshock. These games will run on low detail sense most laptops under 1400$ tend to lack a video card capable of even pushing the games i listed. My advice save up about 2000$ and grab a laptop from alien ware. There laptops pack good cards and good processers.
Reply:Good Evening!

The HP Pavilion dv6000 series are a good option you should analyze. There are MANY different models of it, but most of them include a blazing fast AMD Duo Processor, fairly nice battery life, and some of them are a serious gamer's option.

Also, check out other HP models you may like, because I saw myself a notebook for $899 with 1024 MB Graphics memory (yeah, 1 GB on it's Graphic Card memory). That's of course, not mentioning the screaming fast Intel Celeron Core Duo processor.

Hope that helps. :D

Is there a way to hook my gaming console to my laptops monitor?
if u want to just get a new monitor for it then there is a westinghouse monitor on newegg that has hd av inputs. its a very decent price for its size and abilities. my friend has one and he says its great. when i get the money ill be buying one myself.

link for the monitor is in the source.
Reply:Only if your laptop has a video input.

Very very few do.

The only other option is to get a video capture card/USB device for the laptop. But it will probably only capture low res, and the delay between the capture and it being displayed on the screen is goingto make most games unplayable.
Reply:You will probably need an adapter or the right cable that fits both ends.
Reply:yes. best buy sell an adapter(s) that converts HDMI and or RCA jacks into...forgot the terminology but converts into monitor plug.
Reply:Might be, but I wouldn't advise by it, as your laptop would really heat up, which wouldn't be a good thing. You'd be better or to spend the money and just buy a tv, they're going down in price.

Reply:no because laptops only have video out, not video in like the desktop monitors..

I tried so much to get it to work and couldnt find a solution..

By the way, all monitors (even the huge CRT) are Hi-Def quality when playing console games
Reply:If your laptop has a VGA input then, yes you can connect your 360 to it.but other than that there are no other ways.
Reply:I don't think so.. seeing as you don't have a cable connecting the laptop screen to the graphics card outside of the computer and able to un-plug

it might be possible with something USB based. but i'm not completely sure.
Reply:it would be unnecessarily hard and expensive on your laptop, but you could buy a computer monitor and get tome converters/wires and try it on that.

What will be a perfect motherboard for gaming and power-users?

I am planning to buy a new PC (Windows). I am one of the power-users. I like fast PC.

What will be a perfect motherboard for gaming and power-users?
Search for:

AMD Athlon 3500+

Asus A8N VM Motherboard (Integrated Graphic card - 6100 i think)

1GB Ram Corsair or Transcend

Samsung 793S syncmaster monitor (Best i think)

any other things you suit for gaming like Saitak X52 Joystick.. or gamepad..

P.S. - go for 300+w SMPS, in case you need to insert Graphic card, you will need more power, as some graphic card needs external power source too..
Reply:I prefer DFI lanparty boards myself but definately go AMD for gaming. Also as far as expandability goes shuttle boxes aren't great but I'm working with a shuttle box right now and It's got

AMD 3700+ (2.4ghz)

250 GB Western Digital

Nvidia 7800 GS

2 Gigs Corsair XMS

It is one BAD machine considering the money and size (It's a little bigger than a shoe box). However like i said it's only got 1 bay 1 pci slot and one agp slot soit's not real expandible. Good luck finding the perfect pc.

What is a good gaming laptop to have?

I'm looking for a gaming laptop... I travel a lot and I like playing WOW (World of Warcraft). I'm just looking for a simple laptop to play my game.

What is a good gaming laptop to have?
Laptops are not really designed for games. You will usually see a warning on the back of a games' packaging to say that the game may not work with laptop graphics cards.

How amazing is the PS3? Why would someone pay hundreds of dollars for such a gaming console?

Why do you think its the best? Do you expect its price to get lower during the months of summer?

How amazing is the PS3? Why would someone pay hundreds of dollars for such a gaming console?
First, a couple of corrections:

-PS3 games are $60 NOT $90.

-BluRay players go for at least $900 NOT $500 (unless you're talking about a no-name brand player).

Second, the PS3 is well worth the $600 price tag if you consider that it's NOT just a gaming console... it's MUCH more than that. IT'S A MEDIA HUB. If you're only interested in gaming.... then go get yourself an Xbox and stop bitching about the PS3.

If you're into technology and NextGen electronics, then the PS3 is the unit for you. As I said before.... IT DOES MORE THAN JUST PLAY GAMES, and that's what SONY wanted this console to be..... A HI-TECH MEDIA HUB.

So again... if you want a console strictly for playing games, go pick up an Xbox and wait for the next HALO to come out.

If you want a console for playing games PLUS anything else you can throw at it, then get a PS3!!
Reply:Well, I bought one because I had the money. It does a lot of cool stuff. You can browse the internet. It plays Blu Ray DVD. It is high definition gaming. It's got a huge hard drive. But if I didn't come into some money, I would not have bought it. It costs way too much for a video game player.
Reply:The PS3 was a total bomb, you're correct, why would someone pay a ridiculous amount of money for a game console and then $90 a game when there aren't that many games out there for it. The price should come down a considerable amount within the next year or so but I still wouldn't waste my money on a PS3, your money would be much well spent on a XBox 360 or a Nintendo Wii.
Reply:Its not worth the price at the moment. Everyone i know that has one it just sits and collects dust. Wait at least 6 months to a year and pick it up then. the price will be lower and there will be games out for it worth playing.
Reply:FIrst of all it not the best they onlyy sold about 4 million consoles and the wii is whooping its ***....... there will not be a price drop but i think maybe next year it will be
Reply:it wont drop in the summer, if they drop the price it wont be till around november, and i dont think its the best, im content with it, it needs mroe games and needs custom soundtracks and then ill be very happy
Reply:just because of the blu ray. a stand alone player would cost more than that. not forgetting all of it's other features like media and free on line play. and you can hook up a load of removable devices into it like compact flash card, memory stick duo, mini SD,USB sticks and a whole lot more. it also has more stuff built in than the 360. like wireless and a high def player (blu ray)
Reply:The fact that it also plays Blu-Ray movies adds to its appeal. A Blu-Ray DVD player is $500. Pay $599, get a Blu-Ray player, a media center, %26amp; a PS3 gaming console. It's a no brainer if you already have an HDTV. If you don't have an HDTV, it is a waste of money.

Which online gaming ladder is the biggest?

Out of all the international gaming ladders ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_ladder ) on the net, which is the biggest? Which has the most amount of people playing it's games, the most traffic on it's site, etc. I have a way of measuring any and all suggestions, so whoever suggests the most active site dedicated to running a gaming league (game doesn't matter to me, as long as it's not a suscriber MMO) will get the points. So don't be shy, fire away. Thanks.

Who is gonna make sure online gaming is fair and can prove they are not cheating the online gamblers?

I am a online poker player, and I lost bunch money threw past years, and I felt suspicious about some of the cards the way they were running? and I just wondering is there any types of commitee to department to keep those sites straight...

Who is gonna make sure online gaming is fair and can prove they are not cheating the online gamblers?
I make my living playing poker. I play online between 20 to 70 hours a week. I play on several popular sites. I can assure you: It's straight. There is no reason for the site to " cheat" or "Steal" money from you. They make millions running the way they do. Why jeopardize that ? No need. Playing online can be different than live. You're going to see a lot more hands, a lot more situations. Also depending on the limits you are playing you are going to find a lot more loose players.

Bottom line: Maybe you need to change the way you're playing. How's your bankroll management? Do you go on tilt easily? Do you play the right limits? So many questions you can ask yourself. Practice, keep note of your sessions, analyze your play, work on your game. Poker is tough! Just don't blame the site for your losses. Be honest with yourself, and do the best you can to get better.

By the way, the answer below talk about "collusion" Don't worry about those either: In the long run they can't even beat the rake!!! Having 3 players who work together at the same table can't even break even in the long run! Period. And you don't find many of those collusion anymore. The sites are hard on them, and can easily identify them.

If you have a doubt when you're playing, move from the table, contact the site. If you doubt about collusion between 2 players at your table. Give their name to the site. Most of the site can look to the history of those players, and if they see that, those two play often together and their play look suspitious: They are out! And won't be able to withdrawl their money.

Good luck with your game.

Reply:even if the site is legit. i know people that play online poker as a group. they go on a table together while they talk on the phone. telling each other what hands they have. then they gang up on one player and split the earnings.
Reply:anything electronic can be modified to suit any purpose.... and there is a possibility many sites cheat, its the internet after all..

If you suspect something wrong is going on simply dont play.

Had a friend who played backgammon on one site, and he told me that even though the site claimed to have random rolls, that wasnt the case... every time you doubled the cube, 7 out of 10 times the next roll was a double... i saw it and was amazed.....
Reply:Your suspicions are all wrong.

End of the question.

(I'm not saying online gambling is fair. I say it is PROBABLY fair, but if it isn't, there is NO WAY you figured it out in a few years of playing. Even if you played 24/365 for fifty years).

There's billions of possibility. Please don't tell me you counted those thousand of hands you played mentally.

It might be hard to accept it but...

Over the long run :

The best players win.

The worst players lose.

You can only admit it. Some players win hundred of grands... you don't.
Reply:The sites claim they are independently monitored, but I doubt it. Each of the sites is run from foreign soil, and there are probably limited rules and regulations being followed - especially when money is involved.

What would be best for a gaming computer?

I was wondering if a Intel quad at 2.5 ghz would be better than a Intel core 2 duo at 3.1 ghz. I don't know much about computers so if anyone could tell me what is better about the intel quad, even if its at a slower ghz. Thanks.

What would be best for a gaming computer?
for now i'd say go with the duo, cause there really isn't a game out there that really utilizes the quad core yet. Depending on what your playing is a big deal, but yeah I'd say go with the duo right now.
Reply:that would be a lot better but then if u get good cooling you could overclock it to about 3.5 ghz or more. but the main thing most people need right now is good video cards... so do lots of research on mother boards and video cards if you are going to build one.
Reply:quad would be a lot better
Reply:Go for an alien ware ALX, with a 3.0 Ghz prossecor thats over clocked to 4.0 ghz if you want real performance. Ghz is speed, the amount of cores just makes it easier to do more things at the same time. go for speed if you plan on gaming! Also if you want a good speed computer go for a solidstate hard drive its tottally worth all the money, a solid state harddrive means that its much like a flash drive and you have extreme instant access to your files.

How do I configure my gaming PC to Raid 0?

If I were building a new system with dual drives how do I configure both drives to do Raid 0? I have read that this will give me the fastest reads and writes from the hard drive.

How do I configure my gaming PC to Raid 0?
you buy a motherboard that supports RAID. I really wouldn't bother, its way more trouble than its worth. I see RAID's fail all the time
Reply:You need to have 2 drives that support this. You also need a raid controller installed in your computer. Once you have all this you setup the drives using the software that came with the raid controller card, format the drives, then install your OS (Windows?).

RAID+0 = Stripped, which does offer faster seek time that a normal disk.
Reply:Go with RAID0, its fast. Buy a good HDD; like Western Digital or Seagate. Be sure its SATA II.

if you want a decent gaming experience, it's about a $150+ option.

protip: Lenovo is a company that purchased IBM's pc hardware division.

instead of looking at brands, look at specs. brands mean very little and it's possible to buy a bad HP machine (HP is the #1 seller right now) as it is possible to buy a great Dell setup.

they all have intel/amd chips, how much ram, graphics card, ect. is what you really should pay attention to. every PC laptop has windows, so if you want something better than windows, you either go Apple or Linux.

How to build a budget gaming computer?

Keep in mind that I am looking to make a system that can run BF2/WoW/etc flawlessly and not have to sacrifice graphics for fps. I have some questions on makes more than anything else:

1. AMD or Intel, which is faster? Which is cheaper?

2. ATI or Nvidia, which is better? Which is cheaper?

Radeon® X1950 PRO 256MB PCI Express® $429

Radeon® X1950 XTX 512MB PCI Express® $299

(WTF is the difference between PRO %26amp; XTX?)

I've always gone with ATI, but am open to changes as the PC world changes so fast.

3. Windows XP or wait for Windows Vista? What's so great about Vista anyways?

4. How much RAM is enough RAM? What brand of RAM %26amp; type of RAM is good/affordable?

Any other tips would be appreciated.

How to build a budget gaming computer?
1)For low budget, AMD Athlon or Opteron

For normal budget, Intel Core 2 Duo

2) Nvidia

nothing is different except a total rip off in name, it has less GDDR3 RAM yet it is overclocked by about 50 to 100 mhz in speed

3) XP for now, Vista will have tons of bugs, wait a month or 2 then buy it on ebay.

4) 2gbs if enough to run flawlessly.

I enjoy OCZ RAM, but Corsair is good too. all affordable

I can give you 2 setups, both will require overclocking to function best

Lower Budget Computer

AMD Opteron 165 Dual Core stock 1.8ghz (i run it at 2.8ghz)

2gbs OCZ Platinum Edition RAM

2x 7900GT in SLi

Sound Blaster Audigy 4 SE

160gbs of memory from Seagate (barracuda series)

PC Power and Cooling 510 series PSU

this will cost about 1200 or so.

PC Power and Cooling 850 watt PSU

about 1800 to 2200

Note: this will run Vista with no problem and rip, cut, and destroy any game with a blink of an eye.

TO OVERCLOCK WELL AT A LOW PRICE!!!!!!

GET A Zalman CNPS 9500 !!!!!!!!

(pure copper air cooling, totally silent i have one)

For the Opteron 165, i know 1.8ghz is slow

but i have it running at 2.8ghz on air, using the Zalman i stated above.

all temperature are fine.

2.8ghz is like a 3.6 to 3.8ghz Pentium 4.

It is the architecture of AMD and Intel that makes it so different.

THe E6600 can overclock to about 3.4ghz to 3.6ghz.

that is about a 4ghz or so Pentium 4

i am basing this off of Pentium 4s because most people know about them rather than AMD Athlons

All prices include a case, and dvd burner along with addons as well.

I personally don't like ATI, but u can always go taht way.

Comparing price to speed, Intel is faster

but AMD can overclock very well. but the new Core 2 Duos can too.

so it is a choice u have to make

My setup for gaming is

AMD Opteron 165 running at 2.8ghz

Zalman CNPS9500 cooler

DFI LanParty nF4 SLi-Dr motherboard

2gbs of OCZ Platinum Edition

2 EVGA 7800GTs in SLI

Sound blaster audigy 4 SE sound card.

PC POwer and COoling 510 series PSU

280 gbs of harddrive from Seagate Barracuda

a dvd burner

a floppy

and a cool alienware case (don't get one, they aren't that cool)

It rips through BF2, Counterstrike, WoW, and BF2142

the lowest FPS i get is around 30 to 50fps

highest i've ever seen it is 380 fps on Counter Strike Source

2.Nvidia is recommended for BF2 7800GT is good!

3. I use XP, never used vista

4. you want 2GIG of memory for BF2. Band and type depends on your mobo

Powersupply: 500w or better

DVD: LiteOn 16xDVD Burner
Reply:AMD is faster. Intel is slightly more compatible with windows applications. Should be fine for any games though.

I use ATI. It's cheaper and has always worked well for me

Windows XP. Vista is over hyped. I think that people will want xp pro for some time yet before going to vista premium.

Get as much ram as you can. 1GB minimum.

Last, and most important. Use Tiger Direct (tigerdirect.com) They have the best prices and their customer service is the best I have ever seen.
Reply:there is a great computer company called alienware.. they have great computers that don't cost that much for what you get. the main reason i don't like to mix and match components is that they don't work 100 percent with each other and a good computer company will have worked most of the bugs out.. belive me i know. good luck kiddo p.s. i'm a gamer too

Reply:my dad runs a company reconditioning, rebuilding and building computers, and other stuff like networking, and i build a lot of the build to order machines, and i have never tryed to build a budget gaming machine, either its budget or gaming, i think the most expesive computer i built cost nearlly £2000 and sold for £2600 but if your looking to do it cheaply, ASrock make some great Mobo's get an ATX don't go mATX for a big case, 2GB+ ram can just be generic, as for the vista thing, don't bother unless you get the £300 ultermate version, the rest are rubbish from what i hear. DVD rewriters arn't 2 much and SATA HDD about 200GB's or more, could be a bit expensive, and processor, AMD's tend to be faster, but also, less reliable than intels, so for my money its intel
Reply:1. Right now you're best bet is to go for an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, or E6400 if you need to save the $90 price difference. Both offer excellent performance and don't cost that much. They perform MUCH better than similarly priced AMD processors, and the $320 E6600 performs comparably with the AMD Athlon FX-62, which is nearly double the price. They are also very overclockable if that's an option for you.

2. Can't offer much advice here, since I don't have much experience with ATI. I will say that I have an nvidia GeForce 7900 GT and it runs all the latest games very well. My advice would also be to replace the video card's stock cooler with a Zalman GPU cooler, since they are MUCH quieter and allow you to overclock if you want to. Also, if you want DirectX 10 compatibility, you will need a GeForce 8800GTS or 8800GTX ($400 and $600), or you can wait for cheaper versions of these 8 series cards to be released.

3. Windows Vista isn't out yet, but any computer along these lines should be able to run it without any problems. Since you're interested in gaming, it should be noted that Windows Vista offers support for DirectX 10, which will be very useful for gaming in the near future.

4. You should be just fine with 1 GB of DDR2 memory. 2 GB will give you a slight increase in performance with some games, and will prove to be more necessary in the near future. Also, the type of motherboard you get dictates what kind of memory options are available. It would be a good idea to invest in AMD's AM2 socket or Intel's 775 socket, as these support DDR2 memory.

Hope that was helpful.

Oh, and use the toms hardware performance charts if you need to compare the performance of different CPUs, video cards, or hard drives. www.tomshardware.com (It's on the right side of the page)

How to become a professional gaming programmer?

I really want to be one when I grow up and I know how to code tic tac toe and pong on DEV-C++ and a lott more but I want to be a professional like the guys who make PS3 games and that stuff.

How to become a professional gaming programmer?
The best route into professional game programming is a Computer Science degree from a good college, preferably near a city with a lot of game studios. Going to school near an industry hub like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Austin, etc, will make it a lot easier to find a job once you graduate. Don't waste your time with "game programming" schools or majors, they're more expensive and won't prepare you nearly as well as a normal CS degree will. Along with your CS classes you should also take two or three writing courses, and at least one art course -- these will help you communicate with your team mates later on.
Reply:Play more games like you are mad. You'll come up with your own ideas to create a cool game.

Specialise in game development or such courses from university. Publish your games on the Internet and show your potential employers that you can develop such cool games.
Reply:Here is some real good advice:

You need to be smart! Keep advancing your math skills and go to school for CS or even choose a gaming major. However, be weary of the gaming major. You have a lot more options with a degree in CS, one of those options being a gaming professional.

What makes increases your video gaming experience?

I am going to put a playstation 3 rental business when it comes out. Do you gave any ideas that would make the customers happy and come back for more?

What makes increases your video gaming experience?
Read about a guy who does this in the U.K already and he was quite succesful.

His main points were

Prompt delivery of any ordered game and the same with pick ups/returns.

An absolute must was his machine that fixed badly scratched discs as most of his customers were under 15's and the discs were usually returned with scratches on them.

Anyway I wish you every success with your plans.

Is there a website that will let me compare the same games between different gaming consoles?

I'm debating whether to get a game for a PC or any of the gaming platforms (Wii, DS, PSP etc.) Which one would be a better choice?

Is there a website that will let me compare the same games between different gaming consoles?
For a while, gamespot.com used to give a small paragraph about the differences of each version (i.e. "the Xbox version has better anti-aliasing and cleaner textures, whereas the PS2 version controls better, and the PC version has bugs"). Typically the reviews are pretty much cut %26amp; paste from one system to the other, with that one paragraph difference. However, aside from that one beneficial quality of their reviews, they try to be objective and give great descriptions yet their scoring is inconsistent, and they do succumb to marketing forces (even before the recent firing of one of their senior editors, whether or not it was due to his review).
Reply:not that i know of... but what a great idea for a website.

Is it hard to make a gaming computer with a SLI setup?

I am making my own gaming computer and i was wondering if a SLI setup is really hard to put together compared to justa normal graphics card setup or is it about the same difficulty? Also wondering if it mattered to play Call of Duty 4, does SLI help if you have an XFX GeForce 8800 GTX graphics card?

Is it hard to make a gaming computer with a SLI setup?
making a gaming computer with and without SLI is easy, its just getting the parts, then carefully putting them together, and checking for issues that may arise, such as dead parts, or leaking water cooling systems, or even overheating processors, and don't listen to those AMD\ATI fans, they don't realize intel and Nvidia is outdoing AMD\ATI right now, and SLI is dependent on the game, as most support it now, but some don't and it will help Call of Duty 4, as ive see it have an option to use SLI on it.

Build An Ultimate Gaming Computer

For Under $1000!

Last Updated March 28, 2008

If you've always wanted an ultimate gaming computer but didn't want to spend $3000 to have one custom built, or if you are tired of the poor quality computers you get from manufacturers, look no further. In this article I will show you where to buy cheap computer parts and give you the resources to build your own computer.

Have you always wanted to build your own computer, but were afraid it was too complicated? I'm here to tell you that you can do it. I've built several computers myself and was surprised at how easy it actually was. Sure, the first one took me awhile but that was because I couldn't find good information on how to build your own computer. You won't have to go through the trial and error that I did because I've laid out all of the information I've learned in this section, and if you ever have a problem, just ask here! This isn't a sales pitch either, it's all free. After seeing how easy it was to build a computer, and realizing the cheap, inferior parts that the manufacturers use, I want to let everyone know how easy it is to build a computer. Once you build a computer, you will never buy one again.

If at anytime during this article you have a question about components you can probably search the site and find the information or you can post a new thread in this section or simply reply to this thread. Don't feel that you need to use the exact components I've picked out here either. If you see something else you like better go ahead and use it. Just make sure it will work with the rest of the hardware you have purchased. Again the buying guides will help you with this. Now, lets build a computer that will make all of your friends jealous, for under $1000.

The CPU For Our Ultimate Gaming Computer

It is my opinion, and many share my opinion, that the Athlon 64 CPU is the best on the market. Now there are many different Athlon 64 chips made. For our purposes I have selected the Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 5000+ Socket AM2. For a little extra you could upgrade to a faster model, but this chip will give us the most bang for our buck. It will outperform Pentium chips that cost much more and will leave us enough money in the bank to get a top notch graphics card. After all, what good is a gaming computer if you don't have a great graphics card? This CPU is selling for $109.99 at Amazon currently.

A Motherboard For Our Gaming Computer

For our motherboard I've selected the Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe Green nVIDIA Socket Am2 ATX Motherboard. Providing an enhanced system performance for graphics-intensive applications such as 3D games, this motherboard delivers cutting-edge audio features that dramatically maximize the quality of voice signal. This is a AM2 supported motherboard which will support the Athlon 64 5000+ CPU we've selected. It also supports AMD socket AM2 single-core Athlon 64/ Sempron and dual-core Athlon 64 X2/ Athlon 64 FX processors so that will give us plenty of room for expansion in the future. Additionally, its dual-core CPU technology contains two physical CPU cores, with individually dedicated L2 caches to satisfy the demand for powerful processing capacity. Laced with an array of useful features, its thoughtful design further allows quick and easy system setup. Some important features for us is that this mobo provides a good variety of expansion slots including 2 PCI Express x16 slots, leaving 1 for our graphics card. Another important feature is that this mobo includes a 7.1 channel surround on board sound (this will save us from having to purchase a sound card), integrated Network adapter - Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet connection, and it is setup for Serial ATA for our hard drive. Not to be overlooked, it supports up to 8GB of DDR II SDRAM and it supports the Athlon 64 FX. It is currently priced at $139.99

2 Gigabyte Of RAM For This Gaming Machine

You need plenty of RAM for your gaming machine to function. At the same time you need to keep your total budget in mind. 4GB of the best RAM won't mean much if we have to skimp on our graphics card and CPU. A good balanced fit is the Kingston memory - 2 GB - DIMM 240-pin - DDR II ( KTA-IMAC533/2G). This will give us 2 gig of memory which will be adequate and will leave us three open slots on our motherboard to add more memory later. It is currently priced at $55.99 on Amazon.

A Hard Drive For Our Gaming Computer

We will need ample storage for our gaming machine and we don't want to wait. To accomplish this we will go with the Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST3500320AS 500GB Hard Drive. This SATA hard drive will give us 500GB of storage, 32MB cache size, average seek time less than 8.5ms, and it runs at 7200 RPM. It is currently priced at $98.99 on Amazon.

The Right DVD Burner For Our Gaming Computer

No gaming computer is complete without a DVD burner. I've selected the Black ASUS LightScribe 20X SATA DVD Burner, 6X DVD-RW, 8X DVD+RW, 8X DVD+/-R DL, 14X DVD-RAM, w/ Beige Replacement Bezel. Model: DRW-2014L1T. for our gaming machine. It reads and writes all forms of DVD and CD media making a CD burner unnecessary. If you want you can add a floppy, but I never use a floppy drive anymore since you don't need it for a boot disk for Windows XP/Vista. If I need to save something to disk to transport it, I usually just use my USB drive. This ASUS DVD drive is currently priced at $36.99.

PCI Express Graphics Card For a Gaming Machine

The GeForce 9600 GT Graphics Card has been chosen to handle the visual display work for our Ultimate Gaming Computer. This is a pretty good time for PC gamers, especially when it comes to graphics cards. Gamers can see some solid performance in high-end DX9 games and playable performance in DX10 games without spending a fortune. It is currently priced at $179.99 on Amazon.

What's A Gaming Computer Without A Cool Case?

A great looking case is a necessity when building a gaming computer. Although you will spend most of your time staring at the monitor, the first thing you see when you look at a computer is the case. Make sure you make the right first impression.

For our Gaming Case I've selected the ThermalTake Tsunami Series Aluminum ATX Mid-Tower Case. It delivers all of the goods and then some. It has plenty of internal and external drive bays. It has top mounted USB and Firewire ports so you don't have to reach behind to plug things in. To keep things cool it has two 120mm and one 90mm case fan. Not to mention the case is constructed from aluminum which has been shown to dissipate heat better. Plus, to top it all off it employs an air filtration system to keep your components clean. If you've ever opened your computer up you know how dirty it can get in there.

We get all of this for $79.99. I know it's a little pricey but I think it's worth it. If you don't like this one, shop around. It's your computer, make sure you are happy with it.

We Need A Big Power Supply For This Beast

Choosing a power supply is very important. The power supply is the most overlooked component in a computer and it is the cause of a large number of problems. Many people just look at the total output and purchase a case with a power supply included. This is a big mistake. Think about it. If a good power supply costs $60 and a good case costs $60-80, what kind of power supply are you getting with that $40 case?

For our gaming computer I have selected the Coolmax CR-550 550 watt power supply. Among some of it's features are overvoltage protection, SATA ready (for our hard drive), 3 speed fan control switch, a giant 140mm fan to keep it nice and cool, and plenty of power. It currently checks in at $74.99.

That's it! We now have all of the components we need to build our Ultimate Gaming Computer for Under $1000. Below is a short list of everything with prices. If you would like, you can shop around some more. You might be able to find these products cheaper somewhere else.

If you already have a couple of components such as a DVD drive or a case you can steal from your old computer you can cut the cost down even more. I've also assumed you have a copy of Windows or an operating system you can use. If not you can pick up an OEM Version of Windows XP for around $89.99.

Is it legal to hold a poker tournament without a gaming license if I don't take a cut of the pot?

i was planning on holding a small poker tournament in a non-casino building in Michigan. I wasn't going to take a cut of the pot only charge money for people to get in. The pot is a 100% give. Is this legal? It would be a big help if you could also post a link to specific legislature that states the laws about gambling. Thanks.

Is it legal to hold a poker tournament without a gaming license if I don't take a cut of the pot?
No, it is not legal. The part at the end of this paragraph sums it up. To play for money at all, while not in a casino building you'd have to be in a home or residence and make no money for operating the game. That would qualify a rake or a entry fee as "making money". Keep in mind that in a poker tournament there is no rake...only an entry fee.

(v) “Gambling game” means any game played with cards, dice, equipment or a machine, including any mechanical,

electromechanical or electronic device which shall include computers and cashless wagering systems, for money, credit,

or any representative of value, including, but not limited to, faro, monte, roulette, keno, bingo, fan tan, twenty one,

blackjack, seven and a half, klondike, craps, poker, chuck a luck, Chinese chuck a luck (dai shu), wheel of fortune, chemin

de fer, baccarat, pai gow, beat the banker, panguingui, slot machine, any banking or percentage game, or any other

game or device approved by the board, but does not include games played with cards in private homes or residences in

which no person makes money for operating the game, except as a player.
Reply:"...but does not include games played with cards in private homes or residences in which no person makes money for operating the game, except as a player."

That's the key part of the law as it applies to your game. Because you are looking to hold it outside of a home and make money, it is illegal. If it's big enough to make it worthwhile for you to run it, it will be big enough for the police to bust it if they get wind of it. That being said, if you don't publicly advertise it, watch who is coming to make sure nobody who might blab to the cops about it, and only do it once, there is a good chance you'll get away with it. Personally, I wouldn't take the chance. Just have the game at your house and make money the old fashioned way, by winning it.

What tv size should I get that is good for gaming?

I am not rich, so I was thinking about somewhere between 20-30 inches. What is the lowest I can go. I have a small room so I will be up close to it.

What tv size should I get that is good for gaming?
If you're going to be up close, 20" should be plenty.

It kinda depends on how close you are going to be.

Less than 5' away = 20" - 27" screen

6' - 8' away = 32" - 37"

10' - 14' away = 42" - 46"

.
Reply:As big as you can get!!!

Have someone (you live with or a girlfriend) go in with you. Do not underestimate Tv size. I bought a big screen (with my girlfriend) and I can not remember life before it.

The TV is just as important as the game your playing if not more.

Bigger is always better in the game world.

Good luck

mabey ill see you online sometime
Reply:20" is good if you will be up close and are just playing one or two player. For multiplayer, you really should get something bigger though.

How could i make a profit off of building a gaming computer?

where would i be able to sell it where many costomers might buy my computer?

How could i make a profit off of building a gaming computer?
The first and foremost thing is remember you are gonna be competing with name brands that can do the same thing you are doing. I would try ebay but if your prices are higher than what another person on ebay or even dell or HP or whoever can sell em for they will go buy one from those guys. I am with nrevelations776 on this one that if you are going to be building a hardcore gaming computer most gamers already know how to put their rigs together and are building their own. It's like a hotrodder going to a dodge dealership to buy a Plymouth Prowler. So there would need to be something you can do that the big dogs can't. Again like nrevelations776 said case mods, or some kinda killer prices. To get good prices means you need to get some sort of wholesale prices on your goods and buy like video cards, motherboards, or stuff like cases by the skid(pallet).
Reply:yeah try ebay buddy, should do great there. :).

How old do you have to be to obtain a gaming license in NV?

If you can I'd like the website that I can use as a reference.

How old do you have to be to obtain a gaming license in NV?
Pretty sure it's 21. Since that is the legal gambling age.

However, the term "gaming license" means many different things out here. If you want to work as a maid, bartender, janitor or pretty much anything else connected to a casino, you have to have a gaming license.

If you mean a license to operate a casino or even small bar with some slots, that is still 21 however it is quite involved as to how to get one. A background check is just the start of the process.
Reply:It may be older, but it definitely is not LESS than 21.

Is the game Halo 3 (for xbox 360) more of a online gaming against others on internet or single player mode ?

I have never play halo series but i am hearing a lot about Halo 3 and many people buying it. I just wanted to know what is the main reason people are crazy about this game, is it because it has a very good online gaming feature or is it because of its single player mode ?

Thanks

Is the game Halo 3 (for xbox 360) more of a online gaming against others on internet or single player mode ?
well they have a very good story line but if you havent played the first two then you would be lost. But they have the funnest multiplayer ever. So if u never played it before i would recomend getting it and if u play the campaign and dont like it or are confused, rent the other halos. Or just play online. Its totally worth it.
Reply:it depends some people like closer to a game unlike halo 2 and they like the scifi part of the game(which could have been more epic but i am not complaining) and some just like the cool multiplayer that can be played online unlike me cause i dont have xbox live='(. but i like the series in general.
Reply:Its simply because halo is awesome seriously it is one of the best FPSers (beaten only in my books by time splitters but thats just me
Reply:it depends on if you have x box live
Reply:Well beause in all of the haloh games they have exxcelent story modes except i didn't like haloh 2's

but they also have the excelent xbox live feature which is like wifi for nintendo and also you can do alot of great things with multiplayer mode like have a game where one peroson is invisible but its a great game

What happens to display gaming consoles?

What happens to display gaming consoles once they are takin down from the stores?

What happens to display gaming consoles?
Sometimes employees get to keep them. My ex boyfriend use to work for EB Games and when the PS2 first came out they had two display systems running for about four months. All I know is one day he came home with one of the systems and said his boss gave it to him (but deducted a payment from his check). But it was cheap because it was obviously used.

All this will cost you around100,000Rs or to say 2000$ approximately
Reply:I guess it depends on which components you want to be good. You could spend 800 on a case alone if you insist on water-cooling and neat little LEDs. PCs will always out-do gaming systems I think, until the inevitable merge of the two. Already 360s and PS3s are basically like Alienware computers without an operating system. But anyways, if you want to play like Unreal Tournament 3 or whatever its called then you're gonna need probably to drop at least a grand into it. Try to find things online, much cheaper than your local computer store. Either newegg.com or geek.com or something similar.
Reply:Could be anywhere from $300 to $5000. A good one could be built for about $700.
