Both the PS3 and the 360 Elite (and only the Elite) will support 1080p over HDMI and have similar graphics.

The PS3 has the slight advantage in that it includes a blu-ray player, whereas you'll need to buy the HD-DVD player separately for the 360 - or just go to Best Buy or Wallmart and buy one a standalone player for $100.

The 360 has the better game library though.
Reply:Playstation 3 has MUCH better picture quality. It has games that can actually display in 1080p, and I don't believe the Xbox 360 does. Right now, it looks like blu-ray is the more popular format of disc, so in the future you will be able to get better movies for it rather than hd-dvd. To maximize your picture quality, you're going to have to purchase an HDMI cable and hook that up. That way you can get everything out of your Playstation 3 that you can. And trust me, it's worth it.
Reply:The xbox 360 only supports 720p and it upscales it to 1080p. While the PS3 may support 1080p, it does not have many good games backing it up, but the xbox 360 does. If you are mainly in games for graphics, then go for the PS3, but if you want more of a choice for games then go with the xbox 360.
