What is the best PC to buy for gaming and Photoshop, and where's the best place to buy it?

My Sony VAIO is getting close to 5 years old, and Photoshop chugs, and most games won't play on it anymore (sigh).

Any suggestions for a new, good desktop PC for handling games as well as the memory-extensive Photoshop stuff I work with?

I'd prefer not to build it myself (I know this is cheaper, but I'd rather just buy the PC new.) Also desktop, not a laptop.

I don't need a complete package either, just a new PC box.

Ideas?

What is the best PC to buy for gaming and Photoshop, and where's the best place to buy it?
I would say an Alienware PC they are by far the best on the market for gaming, check them out...alittle costly but well worth it, see link below
Reply:alienware is MADE for gaming but photoshop is another thing. REAL artistic stuff, you should buy tablet PCs (draw straight on the screen) but definetly alienware for gaming.
Reply:amd x2 3800+

it is on sale at staple

brand name is hp
Reply:I would buy an Alienware PC, you can find them at www.alienware.com
Reply:most of your major dealers can customize to your specs, but if you want something that can handle games and photo shop or equilvant programs your going to need a good graphics card, nvidea and radon are good products and ure going to need a high end processor i wouldnt go less than 2.8, and ram should be at least 1gig now days
Reply:you need a ne PC! get an ALIENWARE these guys specialize in gaming PCs
Reply:I would say to get a PC in which you can configure it. Let's say dell, HP, or Alienware. These manufacturers have their own site wherein you can configure your computer. Basically, if you're a power user for photoshop and wanted to play games you may want to consider the processor (Intel-pretty much for business or AMD), RAM (512GB would be great but consider 1GB), video card(not just some shared video, nvidia or the likes) and some hard disk space.
Reply:Dude ... get a Dell !!!!!
Reply:try a dell the cool thing is there is a dell auction on computers that people didnt want and give it back to dell and dell fixs them up and sells them for a low price its like ebay
Reply:Dell and Gateway have great prices... I wouldn't buy any other brand out there (either too pricey or to0 modified I've install hundreds of PCs, I speak from expereince). What you need are 3 things... 1. 1-2 GB of Ram that will really help photoshop. 2. A fast and large hard drive (something 120GB or bigger that spins at 7200RPM) 4. A pentium processor of 3Ghz or more. (Sorry AMD guys, Intel is still more stable). A nice ATI or Radeaon video card with tons of video memory will help your gaming as well.
Reply:A Dell XPS M1710

Try Ebay or call dell or go online to dell
