What is the adapter called that you can plug into your Portable DVD player so you can hook up a gaming system?

I believe you are thinking of either an RF Modulator, or a Camcorder cable. Below are brief explanations of each - if neither of these are what you are after, please update the question and I'll get back to it.

An RF Modulator lets you hook up either a gaming system or a Portable DVD player to an old TV which has a coaxial plug, but does not have RCA inputs.

A camcorder cable is one common way to connect a video game console to a Portable DVD player. However, this would depend on the player's available inputs. If there is one small hole for both audio and video, then a Camcorder Cable should work (See here: http://www.thesourcecc.com/images/Online... ). However, if there are seperate inputs for video and audio, you will need two cables. These cables described above can be found at Radio Shack or the average electronic store.

I hope this helps!
