What is the best non-PC gaming system to buy?

I am looking to buy a gaming system for my husband for Christmas. From what I am aware of, my choices are Playstation brand, XBox brand, and Nintendo. I'm particularly thinking of purchasing a Playstation 2 because it's only $129.99 at the store. However, I'd like to know what you think the best gaming system is in terms of quality, graphics, games, and value. Thanks!

I would acturally get the PS2 because it has more games to choose from and the graphics aren't that bad.Everything else is fine too but they're either too expensive, graphics are bad, or there aren't that many around.
Reply:The X Box 360 would be the best at this time. The Playstation 2 is being finally being used to its full potental but is too late. The Playstation 3 is over priced for its few problems like trouble play PS2 games and overheating, it will be good in about a year. Nintendo is failling rapidly, the poor sell of the Game Cube (Purple Lunchbox) is making the Wii suffer, the Wii is more of a novelty then a true console system.

The best way to go is a base X Box 360.
Reply:My personal favorite is the Xbox 360. It's the perfect mixture of hardware, software, and online play.
